SCPA Donation: Helping a Well-deserved Organization Make a Difference

The Saskatchewan Cerebral Palsy Association (SCPA) supports individuals with cerebral palsy and their families through promoting awareness and education. Recently, they relocated offices and unfortunately, some of their office equipment went missing during the move. including computers. We were thrilled to be able to work with them to donate a laptop which will become an important asset to their office. They will use this laptop to continue spreading awareness and supporting those individuals who are in need of their support and help.

The City of Warman's Community Cleanup

On October 14th, ERA will be onsite at the City of Warman's Community Cleanup. ERA has volunteered to collect, remove and process any unwanted electronics brought in by the community. On the day we will be present with companies like Green for Life and Tire Stewardship of Saskatchewan.

Foster Parent Appreciation Month- Donating to a Cause that Cares!

We were thrilled to donate a laptop to the Vancouver Aboriginal Child & Family Services Society. Every year the Vancouver Aboriginal Child & Family Services Society expresses gratitude and admiration to the Foster Parents they work with for their commitment to the babies, children, and youth from their community. Occasionally they provide care for short periods of time but every now and then they are with the family until the age of majority and some become permanent members of the family.

Hillhurst-Sunnyside Community Team up with The Samaritan Club

On September 30th, ERA has the pleasure of partnering with Hillhurst-Sunnyside Community Centre and The Samaritan Club on a community garage sale and community cleanup.  ERA  has volunteered to collect, remove and process any unwanted electronics brought in by the community. The community cleanup takes place between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm at the Hillhurst - Sunnyside Community Centre, 1320 - 5 Ave NW.  We look forward to cleaning up the community for another year.

ERA at InspirAct 2016 Volunteer Fair!

We were thrilled to attend the InspirAct 2016 Volunteer Fair for the third consecutive year this week! The event is hosted by Calgary Christian School and the purpose of the event is to give students the opportunity to meet and interact with various community and volunteer-based organizations.

Throughout the day, students from seven Calgary schools (a total of nearly one thousand students!) are given time to speak with the organizations they may have interest in about potential volunteer opportunities. At the beginning of each session, several students got up and presented their own great experiences with volunteerism to compel other students to do the same.

E-Waste Collection Event at Kwantlen University

Electronic Recycling Association and the Kwantlen Student Association offer responsible disposal of e-waste
Surrey, BC – In recognition of the start of a new school year, the Kwantlen Student Association (KSA) has partnered with the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) to host an electronics collection and data destruction event for students, residents and businesses of Surrey, BC. Individuals are invited to bring in unwanted electronic equipment (e-waste) to be confidentially recycled. ERA will have an AmeriShred hard drive shredder onsite to physically destroy hard drives. The KSA’s REBOOT computer repair service will on-site offering advice for repairable computers.
