Yesterday was a pretty exciting day at the ERA. We had the pleasure of traveling around Calgary with Calgary-Bow MLA Alana DeLong delivering computers to several Calgary charities: Simon House Recovery Centre, Resicare Society and Wood's Homes Bowness.
Ms DeLong personally chose the organizations who benefited from yesterday's donations. “I am so happy that the ERA are there to make good use of these computers,” she said, “(and) my constituents will really benefit from this generous donation."
We would like to thank Ms DeLong for her participation in the donations, “It’s great to have Alana’s support,” said ERA's founder. “When a respected public official gets behind something it really sets an example for the community, it highlights the worthiness of our cause and the necessity of continued community support to keep our donation programs going.”
We were lucky to meet several of the recipients of the laptops donated to Wood's Homes, who were excited about the computers that would help them make their lives more manageable.
“Thank you so much for the new laptop. It means a lot to me. Now I can get a hand in college.” – Jasmine
“Thank you for helping connect me to my family back home.” – Peter
At Resicare Society we received a warm greeting from some lovely staff and residents, also excited about their new computers.
It really inspiring to see how technology can impact a person's life and bring people together.
We at the ERA would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to all of our valued donors, who make it possible to keep doing what we do.
